CBD

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of more than 400 compounds found in the Cannabis plant. Not all of those compounds are unique to Cannabis, and appear in many other species of plants.

One of the most commonly known compounds of this plant is the active ingredient called Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)

THC is a psychoactive product that is derived from the Cannabis Sativa or Cannabis Indica plant and can produce euphoric sensations.

Marijuana refers to the product that is made from dried flowers and leaves of the Cannabis plant.

CBD holds the key to a wide variety of medicinal and therapeutic effects and users experience none of the sensations of being stoned due to the lack of psychoactive qualities.

Medical uses of CBD

CBD Isolate is a pure form of CBD and contains absolutely no THC.

Although CBD doesn’t make people feel high like THC does, it’s causing quite a buzz among scientists, health professionals, and medical marijuana patients who are using CBD-rich products to treat a wide range of conditions such as chronic pain, cancer, Crohn’s, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and more.

CBD Products - Methods of consumption

There are many different ways to use CBD, and one of the oldest methods is to smoke the flower (bud) in a rolled joint. A more modern alternative is to use a cartridge and battery to vape a CBD concentrate such as isolate or distillate.

Another option to make edibles with isolate, or buy ready to eat gummies or chocolate that is infused with CBD. There are also syrups available that can be mixed with a drink to achieve a similar effect.

On its own, honey contains anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Which means that CBD-infused honey is that much more of a powerful tool to add into your flu-fighting arsenal next winter.

Pure CBD Drops is an option for those who do not like smoking or tasting the CBD but would still like to enjoy the benefits. The drops are administered under the tongue and the dose is very easy to control with the use of a dropper or pipette.

Capsules have also become more popular because they can easily be swallowed with water and dissolve in the stomach for more effective results in relief of conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease.

Cosmetics are not to be forgotten as they can offer tremendous relief in the form of Salves, Massage Oils and Bath-bombs.
